Geri Lanning is a Financial Advisor at J. Thompson Ross Investments. She believes the most successful wealth management strategies look at the big picture and are accompanied by strong financial plans. While focusing on her clients' goals, and using her experience as a financial analyst at The Blank Family of Businesses, Geri specializes in helping clients plan for life before and after retirement. Geri believes that knowing where you are going financially, and how you are going to get there, is one of the most important puzzle pieces of providing holistic guidance.
After graduating from Kennesaw State University with a BBA in Management and a BBA in Accountancy, Geri joined The Blank Family of Businesses from 2011 to 2019. She started her career at PGA TOUR Superstore in 2011 and moved to AMB Group, LLC, the parent company of Arthur Blank’s for-profit businesses, including the Atlanta Falcons, PGA TOUR Superstore, Atlanta United FC, and Mercedes-Benz Stadium, four years later. Geri’s responsibilities at The Blank Family of Businesses included accounting, planning, forecasting, financial analysis, payroll management, along with other financial duties. After developing her financial career there, she started a new chapter at J. Thompson Ross Investments in February 2019.
Born and raised just north of Atlanta, Geri currently lives in Kennesaw, Georgia with her husband, son, and four dogs. Geri grew up riding horses and developed a life-long passion for it. She had the unique opportunity to work at Mountain Sky Guest Ranch in Emigrant, Montana as a Wrangler during summer breaks in college, which further instilled her equine passion. Geri looks forward to being involved with horses again in the near future. In addition to her love of horses, when not working, Geri loves spending as much time as possible with her family, especially outdoor activities such as hiking. In addition to being a fan of the Atlanta sports teams, she is also an avid fantasy reader.
