Tommy Elms

As manager of the Overland Park branch in Kansas, Tommy devotes himself to helping advisors grow their practices and leverage Raymond James resources to reach their business goals. 

“The firm is poised for strategic, outstanding growth across Kansas and western Missouri,” says Tommy, who cherishes the opportunity to lead a team of ambitious, hardworking advisors. His goal? “To grow our branch to 25 advisors by 2025 and add new branches in Wichita, Topeka and Springfield.”

Trustworthy and dependable, Tommy’s interest in finance goes back to when he was a young boy. “I was always fascinated by the markets growing up, and I knew I could use that to make an impact in people’s lives.”

Before joining Raymond James in 2021 – a firm he values for its culture of independence – Tommy spent 31 years in financial services through roles in recruiting, wholesaling and sales management. He also worked as a retail and an institutional advisor, and has experience in institutional fixed income sales and specialized knowledge in asset allocation. 

A graduate of Pittsburg State University, Tommy holds a Bachelor of Arts in finance with a minor in economics. He’s spent four years as a board member of his alma mater’s Kelce School of Business and 31 years on the board of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. In addition, Tommy has been giving back to his community for years as a board member and chair of the endowment committee of the Lakemary Center, an agency with a national reputation for assisting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. 

Originally from Paola, Kansas, Tommy and his wife, Annette, reside in Overland Park, Kansas. Aside from relishing time spent with Annette and their two sons, Thomas and Nicholas, Tommy enjoys golf, boating and public speaking to help young men receive college baseball scholarships.
