His practice got its start in the services community, with his initial clients being military officers, doctors, and family wealth stewards. His client roster expanded in scope to officers who went on to successful professional careers and business entrepreneurs who view themselves as servant leaders out to make the world a better place. This legacy ignited Ken’s purpose to be “Always in Service.”

Military service is a proud tradition in Ken’s family, going back generations. Both his father and grandfather served in the U.S. Army and retired as full-bird colonels. Ken served in the U.S. Army and was an officer,1st lieutenant. Ken’s son, CJ, is an armor officer with the 1st Armored Division stationed in South Korea. The family legacy goes all the way back to Samuel Haycraft, a Kentucky pioneer who came down the Ohio River after serving in the U.S. Army during the Revolutionary War.

Ken provides comprehensive wealth management planning and advice. He leverages the significant leadership experience he gained in the Army with his 29-plus years of investing knowledge to provide strategic direction to his clients in essential areas such as financial planning, portfolio development, investment management and planning for the distribution of wealth in the most tax-advantaged way.

He has extensive experience advising active duty and retired military officers as well as high-net-worth civilians and families to help them preserve what they’ve earned and plan for the future.

He strongly believes his service experience brings discipline, high levels of service, transparency and client access to his practice. Every client is provided his personal cell phone number.

Whether it’s the service experience he provides, the understanding of his clients that he brings to the table or the responsibility of his duty that he communicates, Ken knows how to connect with the shared mindset and outlook of those who serve or have served in some capacity.

Ken’s career in the financial services industry spans nearly three decades. He joined Raymond James in 2019, drawn by the firm’s emphasis on financial planning and its client-centric, conservative and prudent culture. Growing up in a military family, Ken moved around a lot. He was born in Germany, lived in Copenhagen on and off, and relocated 21 times by the time he finished high school. In 1989, after serving in the U.S. Army as a first lieutenant in West Germany, Ken began graduate school back in the U.S.

He then formally started his career as a financial advisor with Charles Schwab. In 2007, Ken joined USAA, where he worked as a senior wealth manager, covering all aspects of client acquisition and management in multigenerational wealth planning, managing $700 million in client relationships with $300 million of that under management until he joined Raymond James’ Scottsdale office in 2019.

In the spring of 2021, Ken moved to Bowling Green, Kentucky, from Scottsdale, Arizona with his wife, Anne McKee, a retired academic librarian and consortium program officer who worked in the nonprofit world for her whole career. They have a son, CJ, a U.S. Army officer, and a daughter, Grace, a college student. In his free time, Ken enjoys gardening, hiking, scull rowing and travel.
