As a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor, John helps his clients maintain their financial focus so they can achieve the goals that are most important to them and their families, both now and in the future. John’s areas of specialization include personalized financial planning, wealth management strategies and retirement income distribution. He also focuses on tax mitigation and estate planning strategies, as well as education funding.
Prior to joining Raymond James in 2016, John served as a financial advisor with Ameriprise Financial Services for more than nine years. He earned the designation of Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor from the College for Financial Planning in 2010. An engineer by trade, John earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan Technological University. He worked at Ford Motor Company for 20 years and held senior management positions in product engineering and business strategy.
Dedicated to giving back, John has given his time and support to many different organizations supporting church, family, community, and special needs children and adults. He is an active member and has held past board member positions with the Knights of Columbus, Order of Alhambra and St. Francis Camp organizations. John is an active member of St. Patrick Church, where he served as the Changing Lives Together campaign co-chair, raising funds for capital projects and financially disadvantaged parishes within the Archdiocese of Detroit.
John established his roots in Commerce Township and has been married to his wife Mary, for more than 30 years. Together they have one son, Christopher, who is a proud graduate from the College for Creative Studies in Transportation Design and is the resident computer and vehicle car design expert working in the auto industry. John enjoys spending free time with his family, travelling, boating, fishing and playing golf.
