Karl believes that exceptional wealth management begins with a profound understanding of clients’ unique needs. That’s why he takes the time to speak with them about all the essential matters money touches – from the retirement they envision to the goals they wish to pursue and the concerns they want to address. A compassionate advisor and perceptive listener, Karl is committed to helping clients manage their financial affairs while planning for distributions in the most tax advantageous ways. In addition to leading a talented team, Karl has specialized experience working with business owners, physicians, attorneys, engineers and government employees, especially within law enforcement.
Prior to joining Raymond James in 2019, a firm he admires for its robust resources and dedicated advisor support, Karl worked as a senior financial advisor for HSBC Securities and Key Investment Services for a combined 18 years. He first found his way into the investment services field after suffering an injury at USMC Officer Candidates School that ended his dream of becoming a Marine Corps officer. Karl found a similarly rewarding and demanding field in financial services, which allows him to help others use their wealth to create the lives they envision.
Karl holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from St. John Fisher College and served in the United States Navy Reserve from 2000 until 2008. In 2012, Karl earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM certification, showcasing his dedication to not only provide clients comprehensive and insightful wealth management, but to also practice with higher ethical standards and meet the CFP Board’s rigorous education requirements.
Originally from Grafton, Massachusetts, Karl moved to Rochester in 1984 and grew up in Fairport, where he still resides. He’s happily married to Nicole and has three children, Gunnar, Ava Grace and Griffin. When he’s not at the office or spending time with his family, Karl can be found scuba diving, fishing, hunting or golfing. Additionally, he’s a board member for the Pittsford/Brighton Ducks Unlimited Chapter and a cubmaster for Cub Scout Pack 273 (he himself was an Eagle Scout in 1995).
