Lanta Evans-Motte is an entrepreneur and independent financial advisor who provides personalized investment management, retirement planning, and financial planning services for professionals, families, and businesses. Ms Evans has more than 30 years professional experience assisting individuals and businesses to develop custom strategies designed to improve their financial well-being. She has a passion for helping clients enhance and preserve their wealth, while also working to help clients reduce the risk of outliving their assets.
A community advocate, Ms Evans-Motte has received national recognition for her contributions and leadership with numerous community service and non-profit organizations. She serves on the Advisory Board for the Greater Washington Community Foundation in Prince Georges County; and was appointed to the Prince Georges County Commission for Women. She has served as Chapter President and National Board Member for the National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA) and Literacy Institute for Financial Enrichment (LIFE). She previously served on the Board of Governors, RHSSB Business School Alumni Board, and Alumni Center Campaign Cabinet at the University of Maryland. Ms. Evans-Motte is a graduate of Leadership Prince Georges, a member of Delta Sigma Theta, and leader of the Youth Savings & Investment program at her church.
A frequent contributor to financial publications and media regarding various financial topics, she speaks regularly at seminars and conferences throughout the United States. Ms. Evans-Motte has a B.S. in Accounting and an M.B.A. in Finance and Information Systems from the University of Maryland at College Park. She holds Series 7 and Series 66 Securities Licenses, is a Registered Insurance Agent, Registered Financial Consultant®, Retirement Income Certified Professional®, and earned a Certificate in Personal Financial Planning. She has more than 30 years of financial and business management experience with large corporations, including Verizon/Bell Atlantic, Hewlett Packard, 3Com Corporation, Morgan Stanley, and Raymond James. She is married to Charles Motte Jr. She was a business consultant for the Center for Minority Business Development (CMBD) at Prince George's Community College.
