Brian Bedford is the President and a founding partner of Legacy Financial Planning LLC with more than 18 years of financial services industry experience. He specializes in leading clients to and through retirement, assisting individuals and couples with the management, preservation and transfer of their wealth.
For more than 18 years Brian has worked with clients to assess their needs and goals, develop comprehensive financial plans and implement and review their plans on a regular basis. He is an active member of the Financial Planning Association, National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, and the Million Dollar Roundtable.
Legacy Financial Planning was founded by Brian and Tamar (Tammy) Mogilski while at MetLife. Brian and Tammy took the practice independent in 2012. Because of their passion for sharing their knowledge of financial planning and investment management, Tammy and Brian provide several opportunities throughout the year for clients, community members, and those in the workplace to attend “Legacy Learning” seminars, workshops, and corporate educational programs.
Brian received a Bachelor of Science degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology – E. Phillip Saunders College of Business. He is an AIF® (Accredited Investment Fiduciary®) Designee certifying his ability to follow a fiduciary process, adhere to a Code of Ethics and Conduct Standards, and committing to continuing education to maintain these standards. Brian is also a ChFC® (Chartered Financial Consultant®) delivering advanced planning for every person, every need. The ChFC® designation offered by The American College is comprised of 8 college level courses that address all aspects of financial planning, with a focus on the practical applications of those principles based on real-life case studies. Brian also has attained the CASL® (Chartered Advisor in Senior Living®) designation which shows a commitment to helping aging clients achieve financial security now and into the future. The CASL® helps advisors lead clients from middle age through retirement and assist them with the management, preservation, and transfer of wealth.
Brian and his wife Colleen live in Webster, NY with their three children: Keegan, Ainsley and Marin.
Brian loves the outdoors, is an avid boater and enjoys fishing, hunting, and skiing.
