Matt focuses on serving clients who want to retire early or who have already retired. Many are working in or have worked in the utilities industry.Matt has always loved working with numbers, but what he enjoys most is working with people. You see it in his compassion and willingness to go above and beyond to help anybody who needs it, even with minimal or no financial gain on his part.
Rather than just asking what their goals are, Matt asks his clients to paint a picture of what those goals look like: when, who they’re with, and why it’s important to them. Then it’s his job to help pursue that vision.
He not only helps his clients with important financial considerations such as retirement income planning and estate planning needs, he uses his problem-solving skills to help with a variety of their concerns, financially related or not.
Before joining Raymond James in 2020, Matt was a financial advisor for nearly eight years. Active in the community, Matt has served as president of the Lions Club and Rotary Club, and as a board member of the Russell County Fair.
Matt is originally from Bristol, Tennessee, and moved to Lebanon, Virginia, in 2013, where he lives today with his wife, Ashley, and their children, Emma, Sophie and Maisie Mae. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, hiking, backpacking and spending time with his family.
