Throughout his career in the financial services industry, Jay has emphasized fostering highly personal, long term relationships with individuals and the families he serves. He is centered on a systematic investment process tailored to the goals of each individual. He and his team will work alongside other legal and tax professionals to help determine plans for investing in areas of tax-efficient growth and/or income as well as asset preservation and estate considerations. For Jay, the ultimate goal is to help clients understand the matters they can control to achieve their personal financial objectives – and then set a course to do so.
Prior to joining Raymond James with his team in 2016, Jay held the role of financial advisor with Edward Jones for over twelve years. During his tenure, he also served in leadership capacities that ranged from mentoring and training to performance evaluation and talent acquisition. He was named a limited partner in 2009. Jay attended the University of Toledo, earning his bachelor’s degree in management before going on to earn master’s degrees in finance and economics.
Active in his community, Jay has served as a board member for the Avista Hospital Foundation, the Louisville Downtown Business Association, the Centaurus/Monarch Scholarship Committee, committees at Boulder Country Club, and the head coach of the Boulder High School swim team.
Originally from Macon, Georgia, Jay and his wife, Jenae, who works alongside him on the Mainstay Advisors team, reside in Gunbarrel. In his free time, Jay enjoys fly-fishing, golfing, camping, swimming and spending time with his family.
