Dan Dawson is a Financial Advisor with Raymond James, in the firm's Chicago branch office. As a CFP® Professional, Dan helps uniquely successful families coordinate and manage the complex financial decisions that surround significant wealth creation events.
When someone sells a business, receives an inheritance, or transitions into retirement, they're faced with a tremendous amount of uncertainty. How do I structure my investments to maintain my lifestyle? When should I exercise my stock options? Can I afford to create a financial legacy for my family or for charities? Will too much money rob my children of their ambition? What am I missing?
Dan helps reduce that uncertainty by educating his clients on the implications and potential outcomes of all of their financial decisions, helping them feel confident that their most deeply held goals will be accomplished.
Originally from Homer Glen, IL, Dan graduated from The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Arts in finance. He has also completed extensive training in financial planning, estate planning, insurance, investments, taxes, employee benefits and retirement planning, and earned the designations of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and Retirement Income Certified Professional®.
Away from the office, Dan resides in La Grange, IL with his wife, Kristen and their three boys, Liam, Caleb & Henry. In his free time Dan especially enjoys reading, cooking, and playing volleyball.
Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, Certified Financial Planner™, and in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board's initial and ongoing certification requirements.
