Joel is president of Merritt Wealth & Retirement Advisors, Inc., and a financial advisor at Raymond James Financial Services. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and an Enrolled Agent with the Internal Revenue Service, and he holds securities and insurance licenses including the Series 7, 9, 10 and 66. Prior to joining Raymond James, Joel worked for Diversified Management Inc., Thrivent Financial and Ameriprise where he gained experience in the areas of financial planning, investment management and income tax preparation. Joel graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside with a degree in economics. Joel is attentive to things that are happening in the markets and the economy, and he brings that focus into the advice that he gives to his clients.
Joel lives in Helenville, Wisconsin with his wife and their four children and he serves at Summit Harvest Church in Concord, Wisconsin. Outside of work, he enjoys being outdoors, staying fit through weightlifting and kickboxing and he spends a lot of his time reading the teachings of Jesus and thinking about how God intends to weave them through every facet of life.
