As an independent financial advisor, Mike's primary focus is to help his clients make smart decisions for their investment strategies and in planning for their retirement. He sees himself as the "medium through which his clients develop personal understanding to make educated financial decisions.
In addition, he assists clients with "financial enrichment," work which involves helping families and businesses initiate their advance family succession planning. This is accomplished through examination of estate planning techniques and working closely with the client's attorney, CPA, or other essential professionals.*
Education And Credentials
Mike earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™ professional certification in 1987 from the College for Financial Planning, Denver, Colorado. He also holds the certified designation, Accredited Estate Planner (AEP) earned from the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils, Cleveland, Ohio. In addition, he is a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) through the American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration (BS) from Northwestern State University, Natchitoches, Louisiana.
Mike is an active member of the Financial Planning Association, the New Orleans Estate Planning Council, the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils, and the Society of Financial Service Professionals.
Among numerous other professional organizations, he has spoken for the Greater New Orleans CPA Association and the "Money-Watch-Live" public investment symposium in New Orleans.
He and his wife, Sylvia, chose the New Orleans area to raise their family and enjoy the many opportunities available in such a historic location. Sylvia has been a long time advocate of the World War II Museum, having served many years as a museum tour guide, while Mike is an avid listener and fan of live jazz music.
