Desiree Kelley, CFP®, CLTC®, is a Certified Financial Planner™ and is also certified in Long-Term Care planning. Desiree continues to focus on retirement planning and investment management for retirees and pre-retirees. Desiree is a financial planner providing unbiased, personalized advice. She has over 14 years of experience working with clients, having formerly worked with teachers’ pension and 403(b) plans.
Desiree graduated with honors from Louisiana State University and worked for Merck pharmaceuticals before taking time off to raise a family. She holds series 7, 6, 63, and 65 securities licenses as well as a Louisiana life insurance license. As a stock broker and investment adviser representative, she is held to a fiduciary standard of care serving in her client’s best interest.
Desiree is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional, earning one if the industry’s most recognizable certifications. CFP® professionals are held to strict ethical standards to ensure financial planning recommendations are in your best interest. What’s more, a Certified Financial Planner™ professional must acquire several years of experience related to delivering financial planning services to clients and pass the comprehensive certification exam before they can call themselves a CFP® professional.
To better serve her clients, Desiree became Certified in Long-Term Care. The CLTC® designation focuses on the discipline of extended care planning. It provides professionals the critical tools to discuss the subject of longevity and its consequences on their clients’ family and finances.
Desiree is active on the board of the Financial Planning Association of Greater New Orleans, currently serving as Immediate Past President. FPA of Greater New Orleans promotes universal acceptance of the value and necessity of the financial planning process. The local chapter is a source for sharing industry best practices and continuing education. The organization is involved in pro bono financial planning in the community.
Desiree resides in Destrehan with her husband, Brent, and her children Elizabeth, Noelle and David III. She enjoys playing tennis, swimming, and reading.
