For over two and a half decades, Mike has worked in the Financial Services Field. He is very passionate about his career and has helped clients address their financial concerns and develop strategies by focusing on each individual’s needs and goals. Humble, driven, and goal-oriented, Mike is a financial advisor who specializes in retirement income planning/retirement planning, as well as financial planning, college planning and estate planning. Mike has dedicated his career to the delivering of personalized financial planning and services his clients deserve.
Mike began his career as a financial advisor with Edward Jones in July 1990. Mike received his Bachelor of Science in Management from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana; he graduated with the class of 1990. He also has received his AAMS in 2004 and CFP in 2012 both from the College of Financial Planning. In June of 2014, Mike joined Raymond James. Mike was attracted to the support Raymond James had to offer to independent firms thus allowed him to enjoy seeing people reach their financial goals with a vast array of resources.
Originally from Vincennes, Indiana, Mike makes his home in Harrisburg, Illinois with his wife Julie Stewart. They have five bright-minded and talented children. Their oldest Jessica Stephens who is 25, is following in her father’s footprints. She recently has become a Financial Advisor and is working side by side with her father. Their second oldest is Jacob Stewart who is 23. Jacob is in the process of attending medical school to continue his dreams of becoming a Doctor. Mike and Julie’s third oldest, Jordan Stewart is 22. She is currently in the process of completing her Masters in Marketing. Similar to Jessica, Jordan is working alongside her father, but her specialty is in the marketing area. Their fourth oldest is Miss Jocelyn Stewart who is 13. Jocelyn is involved in gymnastics, soccer, and karate. Lastly, the youngest of the Stewart clan is Joshua Stewart who is 11. Joshua loves being outdoors, playing soccer, and being involved in Karate. Mike is also a grandfather to two beautiful little girls, Juliea and Gracie Stephens.
Away from the office, Mike enjoys boating, scuba diving, soccer, and spending time with his family. Mike loves helping and supporting the community. He is an active member for Kiwanis, Masonic Lodge, Ainad Shriners, and SCIDC chairman. He was the past president for rotary and SYSA, as well as the former Harrisburg high school soccer coach.
Mike hopes to help individuals reach their financial goals by using an ongoing planning process and building a strong relationship. He also want to help them reach their financial goals through in depth financial planning and helping individuals understand the differences between wealth accumulation and distribution phases of their lives.
