Mike has 31 years of experience in the financial services industry and became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® Professional more than 15 years ago. After graduating from the University of Alabama with a degree in Corporate Finance and Investment Management, he spent the first 9 years of his career in commercial and private banking before entering the investment and financial planning field in 2000 with A.G. Edwards & Sons, which became Wells Fargo Advisors. Mike joined Raymond James in 2020, which is where he continues to serve clients today.
Mike values the confidence and trust his clients place with him in investment management and all areas of their financial affairs. Whether it be planning a target age for retiring and maximizing retirement income, efficient wealth transfer to the next generation, planning for college expenses, or business ownership transition, Mike customizes his approach to each client’s unique situation to create a plan that provides the best opportunity to achieve client goals. Mike especially appreciates that most new client relationships come from referrals from existing clients, including children and grandchildren of current clients.
Mike has been involved in the Anniston area community for almost 3 decades, having served on numerous boards, including the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce, Regional Medical Center,
United Way of East Central Alabama, Camp Lee, and the Northeast Alabama Bicycle Association. He also served as an elected board member of the Jacksonville City Schools and currently serves on the board of Fellowship of Christian Athletes Cheaha Valley Chapter. Mike has volunteered with Meals on Wheels for more than 20 years. He was involved in the development of the Coldwater Mountain bike trails and in founding the Noble Street Festival and Sunny King Criterium bike races benefiting Relay for Life. He is currently in his 8th year as a volunteer coach for the Jacksonville High School mountain bike team.
Mike has been married to his wife Mindy for 26 years and they have two daughters—Virginia who is in graduate school at Wheaton College and Elizabeth who is in graduate school at Baylor University. He enjoys road and mountain biking, hiking, camping, and traveling with his family.
