Steve is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professional and has more than 32 years of financial planning experience. The CFP® certification he holds is one of the most respected financial planning credentials and the recognized standard of excellence in personal financial planning.

Steve customizes comprehensive financial plans for clients based on their unique goals, needs and situation, and designed to help them confidently pursue their objectives and address the many milestones in their life, such as retirement. In addition to financial planning, Steve is highly experienced in other essential financial matters such as tax strategies, employee benefits, retirement planning, estate planning, investment management and insurance. He holds Series 7, 66 and 9/10 securities licenses.

Before joining Raymond James in 2005, Steve enjoyed a career in banking, serving as vice president and branch manager of Grundy Bank, senior vice president of commercial lending at First National Bank of Wilmington, and compliance officer at Beverly Bancorporation. Earlier in life, Steve was an instructor of animal science at Joliet Junior College. He earned a bachelor’s degree in animal science and a master’s degree in meat science and muscle biology from Kansas State University.

Active in his community, Steve is a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church of Wilmington, a member, past president and president-elect of the Wilmington Rotary Club, and served as leader of the Wesley 4-H Hustlers for 17 years.

Steve was raised on the family farm in Wilmington, where he lives today with his wife, Judy. They enjoy spending time with their two children, Carrie and Chris, and a daughter-in-law, Katie. Steve raises Dorset Sheep. He also enjoys woodworking, participating in his church and supporting causes such as Our Caring Closet and the Kuzma Care Cottage.
