Shelia A. Van Meter

Administrative Assistant

Shelia has worked with us as an Administrative Assistant since 2004. She offers a smile and pleasant greeting when you come to the office or call. She handles our advertising, client event planning, and provides client support.

Shelia and her husband of 44 years, Michael, reside in Sturgis and are members of the First Presbyterian Church. They have two children and six grandchildren. Their son Doug is a designer for John Deere. He and his wife Katelyn have three daughters and a son. Their daughter Katelyn, an accountant, lives in Grand Rapids with her husband, Edward, and their two children. Shelia and Mike enjoy spending down time with Mike’s parents at the cottage on Klinger Lake, which has been in the family for more than 80 years.

When she is not at work, Shelia quilts, sews, and bakes, often making her co-workers guinea pigs for her new recipes. She was recently featured in our local Sturgis Journal "Neighbors-Home Plate" section, highlighting her favorite dish. Shelia has volunteered at the Sturgis Historical Museum-At the Depot in the gift shop and is a past member and volunteer for the Sturgis Arts Council and Sturges-Young Auditorium board.
