Laurie’s extensive professional background brings together a distinct combination of knowledge and experience in tax, divorce financial planning, and investments. She creates customized comprehensive financial plans for our clients and meets one-on-one, offering advice and guidance in college planning, retirement planning and investments. Laurie is committed to seeing that people and especially women are empowered in their life’s transitions such as divorce, widowhood, or retirement. She encourages them to make financial decisions and choices, providing support as they participate in the process of managing and sustaining their wealth. Laurie sees her work as making a difference in the lives of her clients.
Laurie started her career as director of branch services for Christopher Weil & Co. and then honed her skills as a financial advisor with EF Hutton, Glenfed Brokerage and HD Vest before joining Raymond James in 2011. She graduated with a Communication Studies degree from California State University, Northridge and then went on to the College for Financial Planning, where she completed the rigorous educational requirements and received the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation. She has experience in tax analysis, and holds the Series 7, 24, 66 securities licenses as well as her Life and Variable Annuity, Long Term Care Insurance licenses.
Laurie is married to Stephen Murphy and together they have eight children and four grandchildren!Laurie’s everyday pursuits include reading with her book club, hiking in the beautiful mountains of Lake Tahoe, or going to the beach with her three dogs.
