For Philip, the tenets of faith and family are as central to his life as they are to his practice. With passionate commitment to those he serves, his goal is to help each client define their short- and longterm goals, manage and preserve their assets, and become more educated about the economy and the markets. Conscientious and devoted, Philip helps those he serves pursue financial independence through a disciplined investment approach.
Philip is a lifelong resident of Lake City, Florida, where he, his sister and his three brothers were instilled with the discipline, love and commitment they saw in their parents. As a teenager, he, as well as his brothers, achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and were influenced during that time by the principles of scouting and the adults who mentored them.
Philip earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Spring Hill College, a Jesuit Catholic university. He went on to accept a position with an accounting firm in 1972 and became managing partner of Odom, Moses & Company in 1987. Although Philip was proficient as an accountant, he knew his true path was focused on financial planning. He joined Raymond James in 1999 and began working full time to provide sound financial and investment services to clients.
Active in his community and involved in his church, Philip has served on numerous boards throughout the years. He is especially proud of his 29-year commitment to First Federal Bank of Florida, a billion dollar mutual thrift, where he serves as vice chairman of the board. Philip is a longstanding member of the Chairman’s Council* at Raymond James, which recognizes the top ranking financial advisors within the firm.
Today, Philip makes his home with his wife, Sarai, whom he feels honored to spend his life with. Together they have four adult children, Erin, Brian, John and Loran, and five wonderful grandchildren. In his free time, Philip enjoys long weekends and holidays spent with friends and family, fishing and traveling.
