Philip is a native Floridian and except for when he left to attend and graduate from Spring Hill College, he has been a lifelong resident of Lake City, Florida
After finishing college, Philip joined an accounting firm in Lake City in 1972 and later as a CPA became managing partner of Odom, Moses & Company, CPA's in 1987. Although he was proficient as an accountant, he enjoyed financial planning and in 1999 through his affiliation with Raymond James devoted his full time to provide sound financial and investment services to clients.
During the frequent meetings with each client, his goal is to help them define their long-term goals, protect and preserve their assets, and educate them about the economy and the markets. He emphasizes the importance of being cautious in making abrupt decisions about how much risk to accept in good and turbulent times and instead carefully assess how much risk they are willing to accept, invest accordingly and resist the urge to be influenced by temporary events.
Philip has always been involved in his community and serves on numerous boards. He is a member of the Chairman's Council at Raymond James which recognizes the top echelon of financial advisors with the firm*. He has also served as Vice-Chairman for 30 years on the Board of First Federal Bank of Florida, a $2 billon thrift.
Philip was very fortunate to meet his lovely wife, Sarai, who is an inspiration to him because of her values and commitment to her family and friends. They have four adult children and six grandchildren. Even though he and Sarai thoroughly enjoy their long weekends with friends and family at their home on the Gulf of Mexico as well as traveling, he remains passionately committed to his clients.
