Matt manages the technology at our branch and satellite offices, and keeps all systems operating efficiently. He plans and implements network and security upgrades as well as provides technical support for our team members on Raymond James and in-house platforms.

He is also instrumental in the design and implementation of many of the research, tracking and analysis tools that our investment committee uses.

Throughout it all, he still finds time to oversee video production, social media and human resource management. “I’m a jack of all trades and each day can look very different from the next,” Matt says. “I’m methodical and committed. I set high expectations for myself and the projects I have – and I make sure they are executed well.”

Matt has a Bachelor of Science in management information systems from California State University, Chico. He joined Owens Estate & Wealth Strategies Group in 2013. “I was previously working in the Bay Area doing technology support when I was presented with the opportunity to take a leadership role back in the hometown that my wife and I love,” says Matt. “Our team is outstanding and I couldn’t picture myself anywhere else.”

Matt and his wife, Robin, are both fifth-generation residents of Nevada County, a place they are proud to call home. They enjoy life in Grass Valley with their children, Jack and Julia. In his free time, Matt enjoys disc golfing at Condon Park, riding Enduro motorcycle trails, and practicing obedience training with his golden retriever, Captain.
