Chan Sweetser has been an advisor of investments and planning for 29 years. During that time, he has assisted hundreds of clients in pursuing financial goals and striving for successful retirements. As he manages portfolios for his clients, he focuses on overall planning as the foundation upon which he builds his client relationships. Fully understanding that achieving life’s goals extends well beyond just investment performance, he strongly believes that setting goals with solid planning is key for success.
After graduating from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor of Science in Management Engineering, Chan worked for IBM Corporation as a systems engineer and then entered the U.S. Navy, serving two in-country tours spanning 18 months during the Vietnam conflict.
Chan earned his master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School and then spent 18 years heading investment, development and construction operations in the real estate industry. Chan served for three years as chairman of the Board, Alliance Bank, N.A.
Since 1991 he has been serving client planning and investment needs in the financial services industry and is proud to be a part of the client-focused team of The Palm Avenue Wealth Advisory Group of Raymond James & Associates.
Chan has two sons, Chad and Jared. He enjoys golfing, sailing and taking bicycling trips with his wife, Susan.
