Sara Hough is a compassionate financial advisor, dedicated to helping women, families and small business owners achieve their personal goals through the art of financial planning. “I focus on connecting all aspects of clients’ financial lives to help them prioritize and pursue the goals that matter most to them,” Sara says.
Having earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of St. Thomas in Saint Paul, MN, Sara has more than 15 years of experience across the financial services and medical/dental industries. As a financial advisor, she serves clients in five states while maintaining her Series SIE, 7 and 66 licenses and working toward her Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor designation.
Sara joined forces with Patrice Henning, CIMA® at Raymond James in 2021. “Patrice has the experience and wisdom that comes from several years in the industry,” Sara says. “I bring a fresh perspective and an empathetic ear from my time spent advocating for clients in my previous roles. Patrice and I think similarly. We both are planners. We both are very detail-oriented and organized. And we both genuinely have caring hearts that want to make this world a better place.”
Previously, Sara served as a wealth management advisor with Merrill Lynch in Fargo, ND, where she continues to give back to the community through a variety of philanthropic opportunities. In 2020, Sara was recognized by the North Dakota Women’s Business Center following her completion of the Women’s Leadership Program. And in 2021, she contributed to the re-launch of Red River Valley CHADD, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by ADHD, which Sara continues to support in a marketing and public relations capacity.
Of her many hats, Sara takes the most pride in her role as a mother, raising her daughters to be strong, caring and intelligent young ladies. She resides in Barnesville, MN, with husband Dustin and their children, and when she’s not in the office, you can find Sara snorkeling, downhill skiing, cooking, working on DIY home projects, enjoying time with friends and family – and traveling.
“Travel is my favorite thing. From packing my bags to going through the airport to the airplane itself,” she says. “The destination is just the icing on the cake.”
Much like the journey through a Life Well Planned.
