With more than 22 years of financial industry experience, Benjamin “BJ” Pendill is well-versed in helping clients confidently pursue their goals by creating personalized plans and investments tailored to their individual situation. He has a particular focus on helping people plan for and be prepared for one of life’s biggest events – retirement.
As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, BJ holds one of the most respected financial planning credentials and the recognized standard of excellence in personal financial planning. With empathy, he always puts himself in the shoes of others to relate to how they might be feeling and find ways to help. He considers himself a teacher, taking the time to explain financial concepts to his clients to help them gain a better understanding.
He loves the financial planning field as it has allowed him to serve others, witness their achievements and develop many lifelong friendships. He is proud to have a team that goes above and beyond to serve its clients. As he will tell you, “We are servants at heart, so we do not hesitate to step up and help when the need arises.”
BJ joined Raymond James in July 2023, drawn by the firm’s core values of putting clients first and giving advisors the independence to do what’s best for those they serve.
Previously in his career, BJ spent 22 years at Edward Jones, where he began as a financial advisor in 2002 and served the Mooresville community since 2004. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Indiana University’s Kelly School of Business.
BJ has long been involved in serving his community. He has volunteered with the Boys & Girls Club of Morgan County for 12 years, has served as a member and president of the board and was recently selected for the Boys & Girls Club Hall of Fame.*
BJ has also been a member of the Kiwanis Club of Mooresville for 19 years and a member and volunteer of Mt. Gilead Church for 17 years. BJ is originally from Bloomington, Indiana, and today lives just south of Monrovia with his wife, Kristina, and their children, Paisley, Audrey and Micah. In his free time, he enjoys attending Indiana University basketball games, traveling with his family, hunting, fishing and anything in the great outdoors.
