David has more than 25 years of wealth management experience, in coordination with an emphasis on integrity and reliability, to help his clients feel confident in their ability to reach their family’s financial goals. For David, there is nothing greater in business than developing meaningful, long-term relationships with those you serve. Working toward that kind of a relationship with his clients on a regular basis, David is driven by a desire to help others grow and enhance their lives, gain clarity in their financial situation, and pursue financial independence through a disciplined investment approach.
David joined Frank Urban and Beverly Paine in 2000, working at UBS/PaineWebber for five years before transitioning to Morgan Stanley, where he served as vice president of Wealth Management for 10 years. In addition to those responsibilities, David also served as the branch manager of Morgan Stanley’s Gainesville branch for five years. David earned his master’s degree in business administration from William Carey University and is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®), Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor™ (CRPC™) and a Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor (CMFC®).
David is a member of the Prosperity Wealth Management Team within Raymond James and Associates and is proud to work with a great team of professionals that pride themselves with the motto “client first.” His partner, Francis Flores, is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional (CFP®). We are also proud to have two amazing, registered assistants, Rachel Prater and Allyson Herman.
An active member of his community, David is a past Kiwanis member, past board member for Catholic Charities Gainesville, he is currently on the finance council for St. Francis Catholic Academy, Catholic Charities and for the Catholic Diocese of St. Augustine. He is a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Community. David has also had the pleasure of teaching Junior Achievement. He has many interesting hobbies, including pyrotechnics.
David is originally from a small town in coastal Mississippi known as Pass Christian and has made his home in the Gainesville area for more than 25 years. He and his wife, Alisa, have two children, Christian and Carter. Outside of the office, David’s true passion is spending time with his family and traveling. He is an avid Gator and New Orleans Saints Fan.
