Chad Gibson,

CFP®, AAMS Vice President, Wealth Management

Chad Gibson is the founder and leader of Prosper Wealth Management, based in Southlake, Texas. Chad graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Texas-Arlington and the University of North Texas, and holds a master’s degree. Chad began his wealth management and financial planning career in 2016 after a previous career in education.

Prosper Wealth Management serves current and future high net worth families and businesses, providing personalized strategies designed to satisfy their unique needs and honor what is most important to them. Chad approaches each client interaction with “the heart of a teacher,” and places his clients’ needs above all else.

Chad holds the coveted CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® practitioner certification. He intellectually leads his clients through a detailed planning process to help them define their vision for what they are trying to accomplish, and then clearly quantifies the steps he believes are necessary in order to achieve those goals. Once the financial plan is implemented, Chad and his team strive to provide quality service to execute the plan and monitor it throughout the engagement.

Chad utilizes a strategic investing approach, while also leveraging tactical strategies during volatile markets. Chad also focuses on employing these strategies while considering tax and legal implications, as well as the charitable and multi-generational goals of the individual client. As Robert Kiyosaki famously commented, “It’s not how much money you make, but how much money you keep, how hard it works for you, and how many generations you keep it for.”

Prosper Wealth Management is accepting select new clients, and is also proud to offer a complementary “Second Opinion Service.” Chad feels that many individuals are greatly underserved, even those with a financial advisor currently. Please let us know if this service speaks to you, and if you would like a second set of eyes on your investments.

Now for the fun stuff… Let’s get personal!

Tell us about where you’re from and more about your family.

I was born and raised in Arlington, Texas, earned my undergraduate degree there, and met my wife there. Andrea and I have now been married for 15 years and we reside in Copper Canyon, Texas with our four children.

Why is “Prosper Wealth Management” your business name?

My faith in God is the most important part of who I am. The word “prosper” appears 90 times throughout the Bible in various tenses. One of my favorite scriptures is Jeremiah 29:11, which says “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to PROSPER you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”

Where can I find you in your free time?

Between running a business and having four children, there is not much free time to go around! We do love attending weekly church service, supporting our kids at their activities, wine tasting and traveling. We are also Airbnb hosts for multiple vacation properties, and flip houses as well. We found out quickly that it is definitely way more challenging than it looks on TV!

Where is your favorite travel spot?

There are many places we love, but our favorite is definitely the 30A area near Destin in the Florida panhandle. The sand looks like sugar and the water is turquoise. We also recently went to Maui for the first time, and fell in love with the culture and climate. We could not believe that an island geographically smaller than DFW metro could have such diverse topography: rainforest, crystal clear beaches, snowcapped mountains and a volcano!

What is something you can’t live without?

I do love my family. I can’t imagine what life would look like without my wife and kids. Also, Diet Coke… But I wanted to mention my family first.

What is something that would surprise us about you?

Back in the day, I toured the country for six summers as a drummer performing and teaching music for DCI (Drum Corps International). Between that experience and traveling with family, I have been to 48 states and six countries!

How do you deem a client relationship to be successful?

Just as a pilot strives to take off on time, navigate turbulence and land smoothly, my heart for every client is that they feel confident with their unique strategy, in control during market turbulence, and that we arrive to our destination on time or early. I love it when clients indicate how excited they are for the future, and I believe that their only wish is that we had gotten connected sooner.

Investing involves risk and you may incur a profit or loss regardless of strategy selected, including diversification and asset allocation.
