For more than 40 years, John has been passionate about helping people pursue the financial and retirement goals that are important to them and their families. It was the very reason he entered the financial services field in the first place, and it has endured throughout his career. Today, John is the complex manager of the Triangle East complex of Raymond James. In 2019, he was one of three complex managers recognized* for his outstanding results by the president and CEO of Raymond James & Associates.
As complex manager, John not only assists the financial advisors under his leadership and tutelage, but also serves his own select roster of high-net-worth families and individuals. He uses his in-depth industry knowledge to help his clients address the financial complexities that often accompany wealth and manage the essential financial matters in their lives. As a Chartered Financial Analyst®, he holds one of the world’s most respected and recognized investment credentials. He takes exceptional care in conducting investment analysis, making investment recommendations, managing risk and constructing customized portfolios for each client.
John began his career at a major commercial bank in 1981 after graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In 1986, he moved to a regional investment firm as a senior vice president in the taxable fixed income group. In 1995, he opened the Raleigh office of Morgan Keegan, which was acquired by Raymond James in 2013. At Raymond James, John was a financial advisor and branch manager before being promoted to complex manager.
John and his wife, Mabel, have three children, Lida, Nan and John. In the community, John serves as an elder at White Memorial Presbyterian Church and is a former trustee of Episcopal High School.
