With 30 years in the financial service industry, Matt has extensive experience working closely with families and individuals to help them pursue their financial goals. He has expertise in comprehensive financial planning with a specialty in crafting tailored strategies designed to manage and preserve clients’ wealth with sound asset management. Diligent and knowledgeable, Matt gains a thorough understanding of clients’ tolerance for risk, time horizon, and long-term needs and goals to help them strategically work toward their financial future with confidence.
Matt joined Raymond James in 2001 and has been named a member of the Raymond James Executive Council for the years 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022*, recognizing his dedication and service to clients as well as high levels of professional performance. Previously, he spent nine years at RBC Centura Securities as an investment representative.
Matt is a Rutherford County native and graduated from R-S Central High School in 1988. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1992.
An active member of the community, Matt attends the First United Methodist Church of Forest City, is a past president of the Kiwanis Club of Forest City as well as former chairman of the Rutherford Hospital, Inc. Board of Trustees as well as the Rutherford County Foundation. He served as chairman of RHI Legacy, Inc., and currently represents this charitable organization as a member of the board.
Matt enjoys spending time with his wife, Dee Dee, and their four sons, South, Sawyer, Sully and Deecon.
