Ross' fascination with business and investments started in the 9th grade, when he received a copy of Money Magazine as a birthday gift. Since business was a common topic in his home, this wasn't a huge surprise. His father owned a small business, and his mother was an executive for a "Big 4" accounting firm. That fascination led to his career as a financial planner, where he eventually founded Transitus Wealth Partners. Now Ross specializes in helping individuals, families, and business owners make decisions through life's transitions.

Ross Marino, CFP®, ChFC®, CPFA believes in continuous learning and has earned numerous designations since his career began in 1988. His designations include:

* CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation provides the foundation to offer comprehensive financial planning.

* Chartered Financial Consultant, ChFC®, builds on the CFP® program, providing advanced knowledge of insurance, business owner strategies, and estate planning.

* IIMC, from The Institute of Investment Management and Consulting, provided in-depth training for identifying the investment needs of a client, and managing institutional portfolios.

* CPFA, Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor, provides the training and knowledge to help retirement plan fiduciaries manage their roles and responsibilities.

In addition, Ross is the Founding President of the Cape Fear Council of the Financial Planning Association, and taught Retirement Planning and Employee Benefits for the Certified Financial Planner™ preparation program at the University of North Carolina in Wilmington.

Ross has been married for 26 years to Jocelyne, a retired photographer, and has two wonderful daughters, Mia and Sophia, who attend Wilmington Christian Academy. Their home, occasionally called the Marino Zoo includes: Lexi, a Blue Merle Pomeranian and finalist for the "most spoiled dog in the world" award; two cats, Lulu (a.k.a. Moo-lu) and Moses, that have mastered the skills of eating, sleeping, and walking exactly where you are about to step; and finally, a domestic rat named "Baby Face", whose favorite place is on Mia's shoulders.

He and his family attend Port City Community Church. In his free time, Ross enjoys playing tennis and participating in anything active with his family.

The Investment Management Consultant designation is awarded to those who complete the Raymond James Institute of Investment Management Consulting program.

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER,  CFP Logo Flame Design and  CFP Logo Plaque Design in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board's initial and ongoing certification requirements.
