Kathy Roshay of Beyond Wealth Partners of Raymond James finds the team’s name a perfect fit for good reason: she understands not only wealth creation and management but the individuals and families behind the wealth.
Money is important. We need financial planning. However, Kathy knows that it’s your values and individual goals that make you who you are. Rather than following a cookie-cutter program, she takes the time to get to know you and what’s important to you, so she can craft a financial strategy that’s tailored to your situation, honors your differences, and respects your beliefs and ideals.
In an industry focused only on money, Kathy stands out with a gentle person-centered approach that emphasizes empathy and caring. She allows you space to breathe, to know there’s someone you can lean on, and to be reassured that it’s OK to make mistakes as long as you learn from them and prevent them from happening again.
How Kathy’s experience can help you
Kathy’s adventurous background ranged from touring with Jermaine Jackson as a keyboard player (before that she‘d had her own bands), to owning a boutique fitness center and managing large shopping centers. In all these ventures, she learned how to lift up others with expertise and support. Whether it was on stage, in the gym or working hard for her tenants, bringing value to people was always at the core of her efforts.
On a personal level, her story provides insight into what happens when you don’t plan for the unexpected. After a difficult separation, she found herself a single mom raising two young children.
Neither she nor her children’s father understood the importance of life insurance or financial planning. When her husband died of cancer, she faced the harsh reality of how irresponsible they’d both been. She experienced first-hand how the negative effects of little or no financial planning affected her life and her future. Nightmares of being that bag lady on the streets of Los Angeles motivated her to start putting protections and planning in place.
Later, when she took care of her parents in their twilight years, she came up against the same issue she had lived through: lack of planning for their retirement years. In their case it left them dependent on their adult children.
In 2007 she entered the industry working with a top team at a regional firm. In 2013 she joined forces with her current business partner, Ken Robbins, and in 2019 they expanded their team. She and the team make every day count as they help more people protect the lifestyles they worked so hard to create and ensure they have the tools they deserve to make their vision a reality. Together the team provides the high level of professional proficiency that the industry demands.
