Over a career in the financial services industry that spans nearly three decades, Jeff has served in a variety of key roles, including branch manager, investment advisor, financial planner, licensed insurance professional and Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
In addition to holding CPA and insurance licenses, Jeff is a Personal Financial Specialist, a professional designation held by fewer than 2% of CPAs in America. Jeff has been a contributor to the “Money Matters” column in San Diego, a featured guest in USA TODAY's “Talk Today” and on KFWB and NBC.
Today, the clients he serves – families, individuals, business owners, company retirement plans and charitable organizations – are beneficiaries of his diverse knowledge and accrued wisdom. His focus is on financial planning, professional money management and asset preservation strategies with the dual objectives of maximizing returns and limiting risk.
“My ultimate goal as an investment advisor is to build lasting relationships around portfolio management, and I achieve this by taking the best possible care of my clients’ interests. My dedication to my clients earns trust and delivers maximum value,” Jeff explains.
He manages investment capital for clients via the stock and bond markets, using carefully selected securities, mutual funds, closed-end funds, exchange traded funds and alternative investments. Jeff is also well versed in essential financial matters such as long-term care and life insurance.
“I look at everyone as an individual with unique needs and build investment portfolios that make sense for that particular person or family,” Jeff points out. “I want clients to make wise choices, therefore I act as both consultant and educator, to empower them with informed decision making.”
He earned his bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University, and completed postgraduate work in accounting and business at California State University, Northridge. He is a contributing member to the Society for Financial Education, a member of the Personal Financial Planning section of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), a former board member of the Scripps Health Foundation for Gift Planning, and past treasurer of Rotary International.
Jeff began his career as a Certified Public Accountant. Over time, he became his clients’ go-to person for reviewing their investment portfolios and financial plans. Given his investment acumen and his clients’ needs for comprehensive wealth planning, Jeff looked to align with a financial firm that was dutifully committed to putting clients first. This ultimately led him to affiliate with Raymond James and establish the Siegel Financial Advisory Group. “My focus is to make sure you have a realistic personal road map to your financial goals, an investment strategy and a well-managed portfolio that can put you in great shape for the future,” said Jeff.
Originally from Culver City, Jeff lives in Mission Hills with his wife Laura. They have three grown children, Hunter, Dylan and Jordana. In his free time, Jeff enjoys spending time with his family, serving as a volunteer for various community fundraisers, and refining his creative talents as an accomplished ceramic artist. He also engages in many varied interests and activities, including golf, tennis, skiing, fly fishing and yoga.
A Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) is a financial specialist that demands excellence of himself and his team. He is more than a financial planner – he is a CPA with the powerful combination of extensive tax expertise and comprehensive knowledge of financial planning.
Every area of your plan has potential tax implications. You can be assured with a CPA/PFS credential holder that these issues will be integrated into your financial plan. The PFS program enables CPAs to gain and demonstrate competence and confidence in providing estate, tax planning, retirement planning, charitable giving, risk management and investment planning advice to individuals, families and business owners through experience, education, examination and a professional credential.
