Jason Sobin

Jason Sobin

Senior Vice President, Investments

Jason is an experienced financial advisor and money manager who has worked in the financial industry for more than 20 years at prominent financial firms such as Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, UBS, and now Raymond James.

Over the past two decades, he has served the financial planning needs of many families and individuals. In particular, he has built a niche in the medical community for serving practicing and retired physicians.

When building investment portfolios, he utilizes a technical analysis indicator known as relative strength to evaluate each asset class against the other, and ultimately against cash. By continuously monitoring each position for impending changes in relative strength, Jason’s objective is to enhance return opportunities while mitigating risk.

He has a distinct sell discipline, meaning Jason will not hesitate to convert a meaningful portion of the portfolio to cash when, at certain periods of market uncertainty, the appropriate thing is to not be an investor. This is very different from the cookie-cutter buy-and-hold investment approach.

Jason holds the professional designation of Behavioral Financial Advisor (BFA), which helps him assist clients with financial decisions that may be clouded by emotion, causing irrational investor behavior that may be detrimental to their financial well-being.

Jason’s goal is for every client to feel comfortable with not only their investment portfolio, but with the relationship. He wants each client we serve to know we are doing everything in our power to not only meet their expectations, but exceed them.

Before joining Raymond James in 2017, Jason was a senior vice president and financial advisor at Morgan Stanley. Earlier in his career, he served as a vice president at UBS and also at Merrill Lynch, where he co-founded the Sherman Sobin Group in 2001.

Jason holds Series 7, 63 and 65 licenses, and is insurance licensed in life, health and variable annuities. He earned a bachelor’s degree in jazz performance from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, and is a past board member of the school’s alumni council.

Jason was born in New York, but moved to New Jersey at a young age. He grew up in Cherry Hill and now lives in Moorestown, New Jersey, with his wife, Michele, and sons, Manny and Sean. Jason also has a beach home in Ocean City, where he spends a lot of time. When not in the office, Jason enjoys writing and producing music. He plays the piano, guitar and bass guitar. He also loves to ride motorcycles and surf.

Investing involves risk and you may incur a profit or loss regardless of strategy selected, including diversification and asset allocation.
