A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Bouquet began her career in the financial services industry in 1997. She holds the Series 7, 63, and 65 General Securities and Investment Adviser Representative registrations and is licensed in Life, Health, and Disability Insurance and Annuities. Bouquet worked for Raymond James in Philadelphia and Charles Schwab in Austin before joining us here at Southside Investment Services.
Bouquet was born in Vientiane, Laos (formerly French Indochina) but fled her native homeland with her parents and siblings after the communists took over the government. They were granted political asylum and resettled in the United States, where they have lived for over 40 years. Bouquet grew up in San Antonio, TX and is utterly grateful for all the opportunities afforded by her new homeland; especially, that of education. Her firm conviction that education is the key to economic opportunity impelled her to volunteer as a tutor to inner city youth. She hopes to give back to the country that has given her so much.
Bouquet is married to Matt, an Episcopal priest and PhD in Philosophy. They have two children, Isabella and Eli, both of whom are ardent adventurers. Bella, however, is more of a tourist while Eli is a fierce explorer.
Bouquet enjoys gardening and participates in community gardening in her neighborhood. She hopes to teach people to grow much of what they eat and is passionate about ending hunger. She serves at food pantries and soup kitchens and when she has free time, she reads. An incurable bibliophile, her intense love of books led her to work at the University of Texas library all four years of college. She has a library in her home. One of her favorite quotes is by Erasmus - “When I have a little money, I buy books; and if I have any left, I buy food and clothes.” She, of course, funds her retirement accounts first.
