Hank's wife, Mary E. Persia has a variety of roles at the firm and with her delightful personality and love for helping people finds her position very satisfying. She serves the day-to-day needs of our clients, and works to ensure the operational side of the business is smooth and seamless to our clients.
Mary earned a Bachelor of Elementary Education degree from Greensboro College and taught for 5 years at Title 1 schools within the Guilford County School System. Mary found teaching both highly rewarding and challenging trying to help 4th-6th graders appreciate the value of a good education. Prior to earning her teaching degree via night school, Mary worked extensively in customer service for over 20 years at Nationwide Insurance and State Farm Insurance and held a Life & Health and Property & Casualty insurance licenses. Mary is now using her extensive customer service skills and talent for teaching to help service our client base to improve the investment experience of every client.
Mary was born and raised in the western part of New York State in a small college town, Brockport, NY. She has 3 sisters and 2 brothers and a multitude of nieces and nephews. She is a proud mom of 3 children, a gift for which she is truly grateful. To quote C. Everett Koop, M.D. “Life affords no greater responsibility, no greater privilege, than the raising of the next generation.” She and Hank are new grandparents, and needless to say very proud of their new granddaughter and grandson!
Mary loves the outdoors, especially the mountains and any lake locations. Mary is an avid animal lover, in particular, dogs and specifically Labrador Retrievers. She no longer has a dog presently, but hopes to adopt an adult “Lab” again in the near future. For now though, she takes care of, and loves her one and only former classroom pet “Lizzy” – a two year old bearded dragon; a lizard that is indigenous to Australia. Don’t worry though, Lizzy is strictly a home pet and does not visit or frequent the office!
