James A. Sterling

James A. Sterling,

CFP® Financial Advisor, RJFS President, Sterling Wealth Services

Jim’s journey over the last 25 years as an advisor for clients’ financial plans and investments has strengthened his commitment to serve them with diligence, integrity and wisdom. He believes that the better he knows his clients and demonstrates care and empathy for their situations, the better he can serve them with tailored advice. He also supports the belief that who we are and what we believe should permeate everything we do in life, and there should be no separation between our character and ethics in our careers versus our personal lives.

Jim has been a Certified Financial Planner®> professional since 2005 and is a member of Kingdom Advisor, which is a professional organization dedicated to empowering planners to provide rigorous planning advice based on biblical principles. For more information about the organization, visit kingdomadvisors.com.

Continually growing his skill sets, Jim looks for opportunities to learn and train, as well as build out the capabilities of the practice to improve the experience for our clients. Prior to his current profession, he worked as a civil engineer in the Baltimore area for six years. He has served on numerous charitable boards in the local area that focus on helping the underprivileged as well as empowering youth for greater futures.

Blessed to have a wonderful wife and three children, in his free time Jim enjoys exploring new places alongside his family, taking adventure trips and serving the community. Jim still gets a kick out of rock climbing and competing in adventure races when opportunity allows and appreciates how focused training and discipline apply equally in these sports and in his profession.
