Hal Cannon is a dedicated financial advisor born and raised in Spartanburg, SC. A proud alumnus of Wofford College, Hal double-majored in Business Economics and Spanish, demonstrating a keen interest in both the economic and cultural aspects of business. After a brief yet impactful experience in sales and project management at the family-owned Cannon Roofing, Hal sought to expand their business acumen by earning an MBA from Clemson University.
A true student of the markets, Hal's passion lies in personalized portfolio design and construction. This passion drove him to earn the prestigious Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) designation. Hal believes in the uniqueness of each client’s financial situation, tailoring investment strategies to meet individual goals and needs. By doing so, he ensures that every portfolio reflects the specific aspirations and risk tolerances of his clients.
In addition to investment management, Hal is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional, also known as a CFP®. His primary objective is to help individuals and families achieve financial peace of mind. By providing comprehensive financial planning, Hal strives to optimize his clients' financial well-being, ensuring they are well-prepared for life's various stages and challenges. Whether it's planning for retirement, education, or other financial goals, Hal is committed to helping clients feel confident in their financial decisions.
Hal is deeply involved in his community, serving on the Terrier Club Board of Directors for Wofford College, where he supports the college's athletic programs and student-athletes. He is also a dedicated board member of the Spartanburg Art Museum, contributing to the cultural enrichment of his hometown. Additionally, Hal is an active member of the Rotary Club, participating in various service projects that benefit the local and global community.
Outside of his professional and community commitments, Hal loves to travel and has explored 28 countries, experiencing diverse cultures and landscapes. He is an avid golfer and enjoys the sport as a way to relax and connect with others. Hal also cherishes time with his family, which includes his wife Lauren, daughter Ella, and their beloved dog Ollie.
