Ruth began her career in financial planning almost 17 years ago when she became an advisor with A.G. Edwards. She joined Raymond James on November 14, 2008, just over a year after 20-year-old A.G. Edwards & Sons announced its sale. Since then, she has founded the Doepel Retirement Planning Group of Raymond James, which specializes in retirement and distribution planning. Ruth emphasizes a comprehensive approach to financial planning that integrates cash flow management along with tax, insurance, investment, and estate planning within the framework of a prudently designed financial plan.
In order to help better serve her valued clients, Ruth has completed rigorous coursework to receive the prestigious certification as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. Additionally, she has received a designation as a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) after attending the CIMA® training program at The Wharton School; Ruth’s educational experience throughout the CIMA® training program has allowed her to advance her skills in asset allocation, manager search and selection, investment policy, and performance measurement.
Ruth hails from Lewiston, Minnesota, where Erwin and Betty Richter raised her and her five siblings. Being a part of a large family in a small town, she was blessed with many opportunities to established her dynamic leadership and entrepreneurial skills. Her father actually inspired her success as he demonstrated the work ethics and drive necessary in his own company. Ruth met her husband of 33 years, Ed, at Concordia College in St. Paul, Minnesota. Together they have spent their marriage working in missions as active members at their church and traveling the world to experience other cultures. They have three children, one grandson and another grandchild on the way.
