Ty began his career in the financial services industry in 1990. Driven with an entrepreneurial spirit, Ty has seen many changes in the business and has successfully adapted his process to meet them. In 1992, Ty co-founded Amerstock Corporation, a full service brokerage, where he supervised retail operations until its successful merger with Daehan Securities. In 1999, Ty and his team successfully created and launched E*Trade’s online distribution platform of IPOs with an emphasis on directed shares. He also co-managed the distribution of numerous public offerings for the firm until E*Offerings purchase by WitSoundview Corporation in 2000. It was in 2009 when Ty and a group of like-minded Financial Advisors joined forces to become what is now The Rogers Group of Raymond James. Ty is dedicated to educating plan sponsors by helping them navigate their way through this ever changing and complex area. The Rogers Group is also unwavering in their effort to advance employee education and the importance of saving for retirement.

Ty currently holds the 7, 24,31,62,63 and 66 licenses as well as Life & Health. He has earned the designation of Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist (CRPS®) and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®) through the College for Financial Planning. Additionally, he is a Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor through the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA) and was recently selected to participate in the Allianz Global Investors Center for Behavioral Finance program where he received his advanced education on the application of behavioral finance in retirement plans. He is one of a select few in the nation to receive the Certified Behavioral Financial Analyst (CBFA™) designation.

Ty also serves on several other advisory boards for investment management firms and retirement plan service providers as well as being an active contributor to the Wall Street Journal and a proud member of the Raymond James Retirement Plan Advisory Council. Beyond loving his occupation, his other interests include travel, music and basketball. Ty is happily married and has three children.
