The four pillars of a comprehensive wealth management program

The prudent management of wealth extends far beyond just managing investments. The financial life of a successful individual or institution encompasses many important needs and issues that must be addressed. The comprehensive wealth management we provide focuses on them all. We have arranged them into key areas we call the four pillars of wealth management:

Risk management

Risk is not only inherent with investments, but with many aspects of life and business. While it can never be eliminated entirely, you can take steps to attempt to shield yourself from risk. Some of the ways we help you do so are through portfolio diversification and hedging strategies; life, disability and long-term care insurance; diversification and liquidity for business owners; tax reduction strategies; identity theft strategies and guidance on family or business dynamics.

Diversification does not guarantee a profit nor protect against loss.

Liability management

Debt may be part of your financial picture, and managing it wisely can be just as important as managing your investments. To help you meet your needs, we can provide lending solutions such as a Securities Based Line of Credit, secured and unsecured loans and lines of credit, and business capital and commercial loans. We can help you evaluate all the options available.

Some services available through Raymond James Bank, an affiliate of Raymond James. Products are not suitable for all clients and may involve a high degree of risk. The proceeds from a Securities Based Line of Credit cannot be used to purchase or carry margin securities. Products, terms and conditions subject to change. Subject to standard credit criteria. Property insurance required. Flood insurance required if property is located in a designated flood zone of “A” or “V.”
A securities based line of credit may not be suitable for all clients. The proceeds from a securities based line of credit cannot be used to purchase or carry margin securities. Borrowing on securities based lending products and using securities as collateral may involve a high degree of risk. Market conditions can magnify any potential for loss. If the market turns against the client, he or she may be required to deposit additional securities and/or cash in the account(s) or pay down the loan. The securities in the pledged account(s) may be sold to meet the collateral call, and the firm can sell the client’s securities without contacting them. The interest rates charged are determined by the market value of pledged assets and Capital Access.

Asset management

By allocating your assets to a diverse variety of sectors and investments, we attempt to increase the likelihood of generating a more consistent, positive return over the long term. These assets may include stocks, bonds, mutual funds, annuities, options, alternative investments, CDs and fee-based managed accounts. We make use of equity research, develop investment policy statements, and conduct risk analysis and perform due diligence on all investment choices, including mutual funds and investment managers.

Asset allocation does not ensure a profit nor protect against loss.

Lifestyle management

No two clients live their lives exactly the same, so it’s important for us to understand the lifestyle you wish to support and maintain. There are questions we’ll ask to help us gain insight. What kind of life do you want to lead? How much do you want to leave to others? What assets do you have earmarked for retirement? What about leaving a legacy through charitable giving? Your answers will help us develop a long-term financial plan that fits you and your life.

In the case of institutional clients, this pillar of wealth management can refer to the importance of understanding the mission and direction of your institution and its goals and means for achieving them.
