Rich joined the True North Retirement Partners team in 2025. He began his career in the financial services industry in St. Louis, MO in 1983. Rich and an early mentor Michael O’Reilly started what became The Pines Financial Group in 1985. In 1999 Rich left the Pines Financial Group and joined James Eller and Peter Abuls in Chicago to form the Abuls, Bone & Eller team which ultimately became a part of Raymond James & Associates.
Professionally, he has served as a lead advisor in managing client relationships representing a wide range of ages and occupations including business owners, corporate executives, professionals, retirees and others. Rich’s professional skills are focused on personal financial planning and investment strategy. His mission throughout his career has been to build and preserve his client’s wealth through a personal relationship based on trust, accountability and excellent client service. Additionally, a professional environment that develops a high standard of integrity, objectivity and continuous skill improvement. The goal is to build a relationship comprising such a level of confidence that clients can devote their time and energy to the other important priorities in their life.
Rich graduated from Illinois State University in 1983 with an undergraduate degree in Finance. In his final 2 years at Illinois State, he was a teaching assistant in the Philosophy department. He has been a Certified Financial Planner® practitioner since 1986. And throughout his professional journey, has been an avid reader and developed relationships with a variety of professionals that have continually provided the information, knowledge and wisdom necessary to excel on behalf of his clients. He considers it a blessing to have a career that possesses such satisfaction and meaning.
Rich shares his life with Jennifer in Deer Park Illinois. He has two sons, Jordan and Jacob and a daughter Marissa. He has two grand-daughters Riley and Juniper. He relishes dinners and lively conversations with family and friends, is an avid golfer, enjoys reading, music, fitness, sports and travel.
