As managing partner, Jim strives each day to help his clients reach their goals of long-term asset growth, asset preservation and a smooth wealth transfer. Trustworthy and hardworking, Jim has more than 23 years of experience building personal relationships with the individuals and families he serves. He specializes in managing client assets and serving the needs of business owners and retirees, as well as providing portfolio management, wealth transfer and retirement planning services.

Jim began his career in financial services as a financial advisor with Edward Jones in July of 2000. He transitioned to Northwest Georgia Bank, which was affiliated with Raymond James, in 2004, serving as a financial advisor while growing into the role of branch manager. He served in that capacity until 2015. Jim then held the role of financial advisor with Pinnacle Asset Management for three years. He left the bank model in 2018 and went directly to Raymond James.

Jim earned his bachelor’s degree in business finance from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. As a Certified Financial Planner™ professional, he is dedicated to helping his clients work toward their financial objectives by guiding them through the investment planning process set forth by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. The CFP® certification is one of the most respected financial planning credentials among consumers and the recognized standard of excellence in personal financial planning. Jim is also AIF® (Accredited Investment Fiduciary) and CPFA® (Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor) certified. These designations help strengthen Jim’s ability to care for the financial well-being of clients, employees, and beneficiaries.

Active in his community, Jim has been a member of the East Tennessee Symphony Orchestra for 13 years and the Kiwanis Club of Fort Oglethorpe for 22 years. He served as the Kiwanis Club’s president and lieutenant governor of division 3.

Jim is originally from Chattanooga and currently lives in Bradley County. He is an outdoorsman who enjoys flying airplanes and spending time with his family. Jim and his wife, Penny, have three children, Kate, Matthew and Michael.
