    CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™

    Investment Management Consultant, RJFS

Faith, passion and hard work helped lead you to your personal and financial success. My passion surrounds leading and coaching those around me to become the best versions of themselves, and in the process, to help them achieve financial confidence. Simply, I help people make wise decisions with money, while walking alongside them to assist in reaching their financial goals.

I grew up in the church, and faith is a big part of my life. Over the last few years my faith has grown as our family has faced tremendous challenges. My wife Annie was diagnosed with colon cancer in June of 2014.

Our family has been through a gauntlet of doctor’s appointments and emotions over the last several years. In early 2018 she passed away. It has been an adjustment for me and our two children, but we are getting settled into a new normal. Gratefully, I have peace in Christ knowing that while we are assured nothing in this world, her external salvation is assured. Leaning on him through this period has helped me get through. I am a “Planner” by profession, but I have come to understand that does not mean “Controller.”

Growing up on the island of Kauai, Hawaii, I gained an early perspective on the rewards that come with success through those vacationing on the island. Conversely, my grandfather was a profound role model on very different values. My grandfather was a young adult as he faced the Great Depression of the 1930s. I often reflect on the summers I spent with him talking about the value of hard work, a good education, and living on less than you make. I am grateful to have a career that leads me to remember his lessons daily. My love for him and his memory drives how I serve those around me.

I believe those I serve deserve a consummate professional, and that is who I strive to be. I majored in business and finance at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I obtained the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification. I also taught the program curriculum as an adjunct professor through the University of Dallas. I have always connected with Dave Ramsey’s words to “have a heart of a teacher”. I love sharing my passion for financial planning in simple and memorable ways. I am energized to help others achieve their goals and help them discover new doors. I am blessed that my hard work feels light.
