John is a financial consultant in Hudsonville, Michigan. He has over twenty years of investment experience. He spent nearly ten years at Edward Jones before going independent to start the VanderBaan Financial Group in 2007. He has the Series 7, 63, 65, and his series 9 and 10 licenses.

John has a finance degree from Western Michigan University. He is still involved in supporting WMU Athletics. John and his wife Mandy live in Hudsonville with their three children. He is active in his church, coaching his children's sports teams, and enjoys playing golf.
