Zen and the art of relationship building
Successful financial advisors know that building long-term relationships is essential for serving their clients well and growing their practices – but you don’t need years of experience to know how to do it.
In the Raymond James Advisor Mastery Program, new advisors learn how to approach clients with curiosity and respect, setting the foundation for long and successful advisor-client relationships.
“Putting the Zen mindset and principles to work is about asking people good, open-ended questions and having a genuine interest in getting to know them,” Associate Vice President, Wealth Management and program graduate Cameron Diehl, CFP®, CPWA®, says in the video below.
“Every person you meet with knows hundreds or thousands of other people, and they can introduce you or refer you to clients,” he continues. “It’s about planting those seeds, building those relationships and trying to build a long-term reputation in the community versus getting the next client immediately.”
The Advisory Mastery Program teaches new advisors techniques to avoid being “salesy” and transactional, which may not appeal to some clients and potential clients. It’s very much in line with the Raymond James value of putting clients first.
Program participants learn much more than that, of course. The comprehensive two-year program offers guidance on all topics relevant to new advisors, from getting licensed to marketing your practice – all while earning a competitive salary in a supportive environment.
Through the Advisor Mastery Program, talented candidates get the chance to learn from experienced advisors, network with their peers and gain the skills and experience they need to have a rewarding career in financial services.
If you’re interested in pursuing a path as a financial advisor and share our long-standing commitment to putting people first, we’d love to hear from you. Visit our Advisor Mastery Program page to learn more and explore your potential future at Raymond James.
