Vonna Kay Husby has been in the securities industry since 1983. For the past fourteen years she has been the owner, Vonna Husby and Associates, LLC and Registered Principal/Branch Manager of the “farthest north” Raymond James Financial Services, Inc., Member FINRA/SIPC, Office in Fairbanks, Alaska. Prior to opening her independent financial practice with Raymond James in 2003, Mrs. Husby was a First Vice President, Investments, Morgan Stanley and Dean Witter Reynolds; Branch Manager Assistant, Shearson Lehman Brothers; and Sales Assistant to former Ragan McKenzie brokers. Her Raymond James client base is currently located throughout the nation and overseas.

Mrs. Husby was Financial Advisor to the University of Alaska Student Investment Fund and the University of Alaska named a scholarship in her honor for outstanding achievement helping the UAF Student Investment Fund become No. 1 in the U.S. and on national news. She has taught in numerous private and public schools in Fairbanks including West Valley High School, Lathrop High School, Monroe High School, North Pole High School, Eielson Air Force Base, and Fort Wainwright Army Base. She has lectured for various state associations, tax consultants, women’s business groups and other professional groups throughout the United States. Her presentation “Understanding and Investing on Wall Street” helped investors understand the marketplace before investing. She is currently conducting and/or sponsoring both investment and estate planning workshops in Fairbanks, Alaska. Mrs. Husby has managed public money for the Cities of Homer, Kotzebue, Delta Junction, and Bethel, Alaska. She has given lectures at the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP); Soroptimist Club of Fairbanks; University of Alaska Advanced Classes and University of Alaska Women’s Association (UWA); Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR); Two Rivers Grange; Alaska Government Finance Officers Association (AGFOA); Oregon, Washington, Wyoming, and Idaho Veterinarian Associations; Orthodontist Practice Workshops; and many other professional groups and organizations across the U.S. Mrs. Husby is a graduate of the 2011-2012 Rotary Leadership Academy.
Mrs. Husby’s advanced education includes Raymond James and Morgan Stanley’s Graduate Courses including financial planning; branch management; foundation and institution management; options and strategies; tax advantaged and tax deferred advanced strategies; investment consulting services with institutional money managers; stock and bond management; asset allocation and sector diversification; fundamental and technical research; mutual funds and ETF’s; alternative investments; tax reporting; annuities; life insurance and health plans; unit trusts; limited partnerships; and advanced courses in ethics, estate planning and asset protection with insurance. She graduated from Stephens College, Columbia Missouri with an Associate Arts Degree in 1964 and was a member of Kappa Kappa Kappa, Inc. (commonly known as Tri Kappa). She has also attended Wichita State University, Wichita, Kansas; University of Alaska School of Management, Fairbanks, Alaska; and American University, Washington, D.C. Mrs. Husby currently holds the Series 7 (General Securities Representative); Series 3 (National Futures Association Approved); Series 9 and 10 (General Securities Sales Supervisor); Series 63 National Association of Securities Dealers); and Series 65 (Registered Investment Advisor) licenses. Her Alaska Insurance License is #4540 and she is insurance licensed in the state of Florida. Her Alaska Business is #308845.
Mrs. Husby is licensed to trade on the major exchanges in New York as well as the Chicago Board of Options; Chicago Mercantile Exchange; Chicago Board of Trade; Pacific and San Francisco Exchanges. Mrs. Husby has personally visited the floors of the New York, American, Chicago Mercantile, San Francisco and Commodity Exchanges, as well as the Mexican Stock Exchange, Mexico City; and the South African Exchange, Johannesburg, South Africa. She also visited the Norwegian Stock Exchange, Oslo, Norway.
Mrs. Husby’s father was a B-17 Pilot, Titan II Commander and worked for NASA unmanned Satellite projects. As a consequence she lived or visited numerous foreign countries including Japan, England, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, Canada, Scotland, Wales, Germany, France, Italy, Greece, Venezuela, Mexico, Turkey, Monaco, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Isle of Wright, Puerto Rico and numerous other Caribbean islands in the locale. She has also traveled through the Panama Canal. She has been in all 50 states.
National and state recognition for Mrs. Husby includes the Congressional Award for Outstanding Participation at Walter Reed Hospital Volunteer Program during the Viet Nam War; Outstanding Junior Member for Washington State and Alaska State, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Constitution Hall, Washington, D. C. In 2007 and 2008 respectively, Mrs. Husby won the Rising Star Awards* from Raymond James Financial Services, Inc. for growing her business over 30% from the previous year even in a recession. After being a “whistle blower” in the financial industry, she became a member of the National Ethics Bureau (NEB). She received a Certificate of Excellence from The Rotary Foundation for her financial support and is a Paul Harris Fellow. Mrs. Husby received numerous achievements in school and outside activities including Girl Scouts. As a child, she was honored by the Plattsburgh, NY Girl Scouts Troop for climbing the highest mountains in New York State and District Girl Scout Council guest speaker. Mrs. Husby was elected Vice President, Washington D. C. Young Republicans and was honored as the Outstanding Young Republican for her activities.

Mrs. Husby is married to a Dean Emeritus, University of Alaska. She has two children; both graduated from University of Alaska, Fairbanks. Her married daughter has a Masters Degree, University of Anchorage and currently teaching at University of Alaska, Fairbanks. Her son has Master’s Degree in Business (Human Resources), University of Phoenix and currently employed in a private insurance firm in Scottsdale, Arizona. While in Fairbanks, her son played on three championship hockey teams and in 1992 his Fairbanks team placed in the National Hockey Championship Game, Buffalo, New York. Long term Mrs. Husby and her husband intend to reside at their Fairbanks, AK and/or Phoenix, AZ homes.
Her hobbies include collecting antique stock certificates and typewriters; historical cars (Model 1927 Ford, 1963 Chevy Pick Up); antique clocks, glass, furniture, paintings, Russian icons and artifacts, jewelry, as well many different types of antiques and collectibles. Her home is filled with antiques from nine generations. She enjoys researching her family history and is a direct descendant of Captain William Lee, Charleston, SC - American Revolutionary War. She enjoys home oriented activities including cooking and collecting cookbooks, gardening, wine tasting, crafts, home decorating, pets, entertaining, and time spent with family, clients, and friends.
