Mercedes is newer to the finance industry but has gone above and beyond to prove herself since joining Raymond James in 2024. After being hired as a receptionist, she spearheaded multiple branch wide projects including implementing a recycling program, planning holiday events, and coordinating all the volunteer opportunities for Raymond James Cares Month. After only eight months of working at the front desk, she was promoted to Client Service Associate within the Weiss Wealth Strategies team.
Mercedes gained her strong work ethic and can-do spirit from her time in the military. She served in the Air Force for eight years, leaving the service as a Staff Sergeant. Most of her military career was spent on the flightline as an aircraft mechanic, specializing in Weapons Systems. Once she gained the rank of Staff Sergeant, she was put in the position of her units Security Operations Manager. During this time, she tracked classified munitions and debriefed the pilots who flew said munitions. Mercedes is incredibly proud of her Veteran status, and the military still plays a large role in her life as her husband, Lucian, is a Tech Sergeant at Luke Air Force base.
Mercedes is goal oriented and since earning her associate degree while in the military, she is now also attending Arizona State University, where she is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in communications with an expected graduation date of Spring 2027. She is an active member of the Student Veterans Association and loves going on their group hikes. She is an avid outdoor enthusiast, with backpacking being a favorite weekend hobby. Originally from Virginia, Mercedes misses the rolling blue mountains but has found a special love for Arizona’s deserts.
Mercedes is also an animal lover. She has two dogs, Pebbles and Lina, and two cats, Yumi and Tomo. Along with outdoor activities and spending time with her pets, she also enjoys going to Diamondback games with her husband.
