Wayne is a principal with Whittaker Cooper and has over 35 years of experience as a practicing CPA dealing with various types of financial and tax issues for businesses, not-for-profits and individuals. Additionally, Wayne holds a general securities license and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA). Wayne earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from North Carolina State University.
Wayne specializes in individual and business income tax planning, estate and gift tax planning, business consulting, government contracting*, litigation support*, family business issues* and divorce tax issues*. Wayne has represented business clients engaged in retail, wholesale, real estate, service, entertainment, communications and contracting, ranging in size from the small “mom and pop” operations to large international corporations.
During the past 20 years, he has served as an audit and financial review partner on numerous engagements involving construction companies, homeowner associations, service industries, government contractors, wholesalers, manufacturers, franchisors, retailers, not-for-profits and financial institutions.
Active in the community, Wayne currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Friends for animal Sanctuary, the West Melbourne Business Association, the Melbourne Regional Chamber of Commerce and is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Promise, Inc., which is working on a building project in the central Brevard County area that will provide young adults with disabilities the opportunity to live on their own within a supervised environment.
In the past, he served as an appointed member of the Audit Committee for the Brevard County Public Schools, the President of the West Melbourne Business Association, an appointed member of the Brevard County Planning & Zoning Board and the Brevard County Local Planning Agency, and was a member of the Board of Directors for the Space Coast Early Intervention Center, Inc., from 2002 to 2008 and was the Chairman of the Board during the 2005-2006 budget years.
