As the founder of Peak Financial Group, Matt provides experienced leadership to support our team and clients. With over two decades in the financial services industry, he provides knowledgeable guidance in comprehensive financial and retirement planning, and specializes in working with individuals as well as foundations and endowments. Matt has a keen ability to stay calm in stressful situations and works closely with our clients to help them pursue their goals, always putting their best interests first.

Before joining Raymond James, Matt was a financial advisor with LPL Financial, Eagle Strategies and Pacific Capital Resource Group. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Washington.

Matt is a former deacon and active member of Sonlight Community Christian Reformed Church and a member and former president of Lynden Kiwanis. He previously served as a board member for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Whatcom County Foundation, and for the organization’s Lynden chapter for which he was awarded Board Member of the Year in 2010.

For several years, Matt has volunteered as a teacher with Junior Achievement and participated in various community projects with his church and Kiwanis. He coaches youth baseball and basketball and enjoys golfing, fishing, and hiking. A Lynden native, he lives with his wife, Joy. They are parents to three children, Abby, Sam and Libby.
