Troy Howard

Troy has extensive knowledge in fixed-income investments and solutions for institutional, nonprofits and corporate accounts, including specialized knowledge of school systems, educational entities, municipalities and family offices.

His goal is to provide consistent service and financial strategies efficiently and at a fair price while helping his clients pursue their unique and specific goals. Troy tells clients that while we can't control the markets or the economic environment, we can work hard to make wise decisions concerning the things we can control.

Troy's father was an avid investor and managed the fixed-income portion of his company's portfolio. Seeing his father's passion for the financial industry caught Troy's attention at an early age. He began his financial services career in 1987 with an internship at Salomon Brothers in New York and has been intrigued by the financial services industry and markets every day since.

His career includes more than 16 years as financial advisor for AmSouth Investment Services, primarily in the institutional investments area. In 2007, he joined Morgan Keegan, which became part of Raymond James in 2012. Troy holds Series 7, 63, 66, 24 and insurance licenses and earned a bachelor's degree in finance from Auburn University.

Troy is extremely active in his community and church. He is a member of The Church at Brookhills, having served in many areas of responsibility, including leading Financial classes for the church and community, small group leader and volunteer.

He enjoys coaching baseball and basketball, and serving on the organizational and fundraising groups for baseball, cross-country and track at the local high school and with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) for Auburn University.

In addition, Troy served on the board of Oak Mountain Youth Baseball & Softball in various capacities and served as a board member for a local counseling center. He is a trained disaster recovery first responder and considers it a privilege to serve his community in times of need. As a hobby, Troy and his wife Jill enjoy rebuilding and repairing houses.

He is a consultant and secretary/treasurer for Village Press, a local print shop, and on the advisory committee for Auburn University's mascot program and currently serves as Committee Chairman for Young Life - Birmingham South.

Troy is a Birmingham native and lives in North Shelby County with his loving wife, Jill, while watching his amazing children, Austin (Madelaine), Amanda (Jake), Anna Grace and Aaron.
