Clay has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry and joined Raymond James in 2009 along with Matt Jeter and Patty France.
He started his financial career in 1985 with Merrill Lynch in New Orleans as a retail financial advisor. In 1986, Clay moved to Little Rock and continued with Merrill Lynch as a financial advisor. He later moved to Smith Barney in 2002 as a senior vice president and financial advisor. In 2007, Matt Jeter and Patty France joined Clay at Smith Barney.
Clay holds the following licenses: Series 7-General Securities Representative, Series 63-Uniform Securities Agent State Law, Series 65-Uniform Investment Advisor Law Exam, Series 31-Futures Managed Funds Exam, and health and life insurance licenses.
Clay attended Tulane University, where he earned a degree in finance. He is a native Arkansan, having grown up on a farm north of Fort Smith. He is married with two children. In his free time, Clay enjoys mountain climbing, reading and working as a volunteer firefighter/EMT with the West Pulaski Fire Department, the largest volunteer department in the state. He also serves as treasurer and is on the board of commissioners for the department.
