Jim entered the financial services industry in 1986, attracted to the idea of an independent career involving constant change, strategic planning and a subject important to everyone, their financial wellbeing. He worked with two national firms prior to joining Raymond James as a founding member of Dean & Masloff, now Clarity Wealth Partners, in May of 2008.
Jim earned his Bachelor of Science degree from James Madison University in 1985. He is a Certified Financial Planner® professional.
Jim served for nine years as a Board Member and President of the Arc of the Piedmont, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of infants, children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. He is a member of First Baptist Church Park Street in Charlottesville, Virginia.
A Virginian by birth, Jim has been a resident of Albemarle County since 1967. In his spare time, he enjoys landscaping, exercise, studying history and politics, and spending time in and on the water with his family. He and his wife, Eva, and daughter, Alena, reside in Albemarle County.
Jim specializes in financial planning and investment management and has a long history of working with owners and executives within closely held companies. He is able to address the unique planning and investment needs of independent business owners, executives and retirees.
